5 Steps to a Clean Kitchen
- Clear the Clutter: Begin by removing any unnecessary items from countertops, tables, and the sink. Put away dishes, utensils, and appliances that belong in their designated spots. This will provide you with more workspace and make the cleaning process easier.
- Pre-soak and Pre-spray: Tackle tough stains and grease by pre-soaking and pre-spraying. Fill the sink with warm soapy water and soak dishes or pans with dried-on food. Meanwhile, spray an all-purpose cleaner on stovetops, countertops, and other surfaces. Let these solutions work their magic while you move on to the next step.
- Focus on High-Use Areas: Prioritize cleaning the most frequently used areas. Wipe down the stovetop and surrounding area, as well as the countertops and sink. Use a sponge or cloth to scrub away any food residue or spills.
- Clear and Wipe Surfaces: Return to the pre-soaked dishes and give them a quick scrub. Rinse and load them into the dishwasher or hand wash if necessary. Wipe down other surfaces that have been pre-sprayed, ensuring you cover all visible dirt and grime.
- Sweep and Spot Mop: Grab a broom and quickly sweep the kitchen floor, focusing on high-traffic areas and under tables or counters. For any visible spills or sticky spots, do a spot mop using a damp cloth or mop with a suitable floor cleaner.
